Dr. Yang received her medical and master degree from Shandong University School of Medicine, China and her Ph.D. in Cell Biology and Immunology from the University of Manchester, England. She did her postdoctoral research at the University of Alberta and the postdoctoral fellowship training in Clinical Chemistry at the University of McMaster. She is a certified Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Clinical Biochemistry.

Dr. Yang is currently the Section Head of the Trace Element Laboratory and Clinical Immunology Laboratory at London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Hospital, and an assistant professor in the Department of Biochemistry, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario.
