Professor Zhong-Ping Feng is a tenured Full Professor, PhD Supervisor and Graduate Coordinator in the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, and the Director of Collaborative Specialization Program In Neuroscience at the University of Toronto, Canada. She received a PhD degree in Neuroscience from the University of Calgary and an MSc degree in Cardiovascular Pharmacology from the University of Alberta in Canada, and a Medical Degree from Zhongshan Medical College (Residency in Peking Union Hospital) in China. She obtained her postdoctoral training at the University of Calgary and was a Scientist at the NeuroMed Drug Company (Vancouver) in Canada. At the University of Toronto, Professor Feng has led her research team to investigate the biophysical and pharmacological properties of ion channels, and calcium-dependent regulatory mechanisms of neurodevelopment and neural plasticity, and to identify potential drug targets for neurodevelopmental and neurological disorders. Professor Feng’s work has been supported by numerous research grants and personal awards by many Canadian national funding agencies, including CIHR, NSERC, HSFC, and CFI. She has published more than 120 peer-reviewed research articles and reviews. Professor Feng is currently a member (Teaching Staff) of University of Toronto Governing Council and Academic Board, the Treasurer of Canadian Physiological Association, and the Nomination Committee Chair and a council member of Society of Chinese Bioscientists in America.
