TaiXing People’s Hospital is the last stop of our trip. Director of the Department of Cardiology Chen Zhen is our good friend. Although he is the chief director of the Department of Cardiology at a highest-level hospital in TaiXing, he is actually very young. From communicating with their department, you can clearly feel that the team he leads is very energetic.
Compared with 2019 before the epidemic, the department is more fully prepared for this medical exchange. The report and discussion of two critical cases were conducted entirely in English, which made our communication much smoother and the atmosphere more lively. According to Director Chen Zhen, he is already teaching and helping others in an orderly manner. In the cath lab, Director Chen said that compared with four years ago when only two or three doctors completed the cath lab project independently, now there are more than a dozen young doctors in the department who can do their jobs independently.
Where there are foresighted leaders, there will be departments with continuous and sustainable development. Director Chen has many small goals for the construction of the department. He told us with a smile that he will strive to "retire" in five years. He only cares about the general direction and young people in other departments will take charge. He also built a wechat English discussion group for difficult cases with me and Dr. Sia who came from cardiac department of Quebec City.
Director Chen, who is still very young, is really care about his department. We have reason to believe that his department will get better and better under his leadership.

October 22- November 1, 2023
From October 22nd to 24th, 2023, Professor Vitor Pereira from the Neurosurgery Interventional Group went to the Neurosurgery Department of Dongying People’s Hospital for in-depth exchanges on cerebrovascular related diseases. A clear diagnosis was made for one ongoing cerebrovascular imaging case, further examination and treatment suggestions were given for two hospitalized cases, and four previous cases were communicated and learned from each other.

From October 25th to 27th, Professor Vitor Pereira went to the Affiliated Hospital of Binzhou Medical College for extensive exchanges. There were three small-scale special lectures, two cases of surgery and one case of imaging diagnosis, and ten cases were analyzed and discussed.

From October 28th to 30th, Vitor Pereira’s team went to Puyang People’s Hospital for 4 hours of special lectures and three case plan discussions and surgeries.

From October 30 to November 1, his team went to Zhangzhou People's Hospital to analyze 4 cases, give a lecture, discuss a research design plan, and perform a treatment operation.

Professor Errett, President of BMDAC, was invited by Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University to attend the "2023 Shanghai Medical Forum" hosted by Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University. Prof. Errett delivered a lecture on the theme of "Cardiac Surgery Around the World". He also held discussions with both domestic and international students from Shanghai Medical College to guide and answer questions related to professional study and career development.

With the theme of "One Health – A Community of Common Health for All Mankind", this forum aims to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the world's top universities and contribute to innovative medical education concepts. More than 300 guests attended the conference, and the speakers were well-known experts and professors from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Cambodia, Japan, Kazakhstan, and Hong Kong.
