BMDAC participated in the 21st Conference on International Exchange of Professionals |
April 20, 2023 Invited by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, Amy Xu, deputy secretary-general of BMDAC, participated in the 21st Conference on International Exchange of Professionals held in Shenzhen and research activities in Wuhan and Xi'an on behalf of BMDAC. During the exhibition, several medical facilities expressed their desire to send personnel abroad to observe and study with the help of BMDAC. BMDAC also signed framework agreements with some medical facilities including the training of medical staff teachers. During her stay in Wuhan, Amy paid a return visit to Wuhan Asia Heart Hospital, and colleagues from the Medical School of Wuhan University of Science and Technology who participated in online training. Both parties expressed their desire to continue to deepen medical exchanges and cooperation in the future.

BMDAC Awarded the 2022 "Humanitarian Award" |
March 19, 2023 BMDAC was awarded the "Humanitarian Award" at the 3rd North American Chinese Health (CNIW) Symposium for its public welfare activities carried out over the years, especially for its outstanding contributions during the Covid-19 pandemic. The forum was held at Hart House, University of Toronto on March 19 with the theme of "Health and Biomedicine". The award was jointly presented by Professor Peizhong Peter Wang, Chairman of North American Chinese Health; and Simon Cui, Councillor of Richmond Hill. Professor Wang, Chairman of the symposium said: Since BMDAC established, the association has focused on promoting Bethune's internationalism and humanitarian spirit, promoting Canada-China medical exchanges, and enhancing the friendship between Canada and China. Over the years, BMDAC has visited 160 hospitals in China and helped bring over 142 healthcare professionals to Toronto for training. During the pandemic, BMDAC has made exceptional contribution in fighting COVID-19. BMDAC has led the fundraising activities to purchase 3 lifesaving ECMO machines and other PPEs for Wuhan hospitals, and helped to distribute PPEs to several most needed GTA healthcare facilities. The contribution made by BMDAC has been praised and recognized by the local communities and governments.

BMDAC members delivered speeches for 2023 Foreign Experts New Year Party held by the Department of Foreign Experts Affairs of the Ministry of Science and Technology |
January 13, 2023 On January 12, the 2023 Foreign Experts New Year Party hosted by the Department of Foreign Experts Affairs of the Ministry of Science and Technology and organized by the China International Talent Exchange Association was held in Beijing. Mr. Li Meng, Vice Minister of Science and Technology, Director of Development of Foreign Experts Affairs of China, delivered a video speech for the party. 140 foreign experts working in Beijing, winners of the Chinese Government Friendship Award and their family members attended the event at the main venue in Beijing. In addition, more than 200 foreign experts participated online in the event at various venues. Dr. Errett, President of BMDAC, winner of the Chinese Government Friendship Award and Dr. Ginsberg, VP of BMDAC, were invited and delivered video speeches respectively. In their speeches, they wish all experts and delegates A Happy Chinese New Year and have a good luck in the Year of Rabbit!
